Greetings All

I had my first oriantha WC Sparrows today. They were along the ditch across the
street from the (county?) park on the south side. Near a dairy on the N side of
the reservoir, I had my first YH Blackbirds of the spring (12) and BH Cowbirds
(7). On the reservoir, there were about 10 Horned Grebes and 2 RB Mergansers,
but overall, bird numbers were low.

There was an interesting RT Hawk, paired with a "normal" RTHA. It was nearly
unmarked beneath and the basilar half of the tail was white, distal half pale
reddish. This resembled a Krider's, as did the underparts, but head and
patagial markings suggest that it is likely a Krider's x Eastern RTHA. I will
post more on this later. This bird was near the WC Sparrow flock.

The water levels are fabulous at Hamm Natural Area, across County Line Road
from Union Res. It had a LB Dowitcher, 2 American Avocets, and 4 Greater
Yellowlegs along with a nice number of dabbling ducks.

Best Wishes and Good Cheer.
