No end to my junco discussion this season. Finally had a white-winged junco
this spring - just now. Wherein I usually have a few hanging out all winter.

 

Got some decent pics (as always, through window, low light cloud cover).

What is unique about this bird is that it does not have bold wing-bars - in
fact, almost absent on one side. But, it has a lot of white in its
secondaries. I got lucky on one picture and got a decent look at the spread
white rectrices. Large horn-colored bill; dark lore; large junco.

 

If anyone doesn't think this is an aikenii, I would love to learn about why.
