No end to my junco discussion this season. Finally had a white-winged junco this spring - just now. Wherein I usually have a few hanging out all winter.
Got some decent pics (as always, through window, low light cloud cover). http://www.sendpix.com/albums/11040719/1938550000000054d436c27b5659d167d6d70 4c39196c/ What is unique about this bird is that it does not have bold wing-bars - in fact, almost absent on one side. But, it has a lot of white in its secondaries. I got lucky on one picture and got a decent look at the spread white rectrices. Large horn-colored bill; dark lore; large junco. If anyone doesn't think this is an aikenii, I would love to learn about why.
