I stopped at Bowles Reservoir #1 just now (jeffco; this is the Res immediately South of Marston Lake, which is Arapaho County) to watch activity at the Heron/Cormorant rookery. And there is, indeed, plenty of action there. I was also treated to 19 Red-breasted Mergansers-- a mixed flock of males and females. Best (if not only) viewing spot is the boat launch ramp at the Grant Ranch clubhouse bldg, on Grant Ranch Blvd, Littleton.
