Gene Rutherford and I had a singing male Scott's Oriole at Mesa Verde National
Park at Soda Canyon, which is a pulloff to see Hemingway (sp.?) House. Look at
the Park Map for exact location. Not sure if this bird is moving through or
will attempt to breed in this area. Also in the park there were two male
Black-throated Gray Warblers and quite a few Juniper Titmice, among other birds.

We also saw only one Acorn Woodpecker at the usual Durango, La Plata County
location. CFO Website would have the directions. Since this the only reliable
location for them in Colorado, I hope there are more birds still at this
location.

We saw a few migrants passerines around Durango today. The best location was
the park behind the Home Depot. A male Lazuli Bunting, a Dusky Flycatcher, and
an Orange-crowned Warbler were the best things. There were 50 or more
Yellow-dumped Warblers, both Audubon's and Myrtle, to look through. No luck
with any of the rare western warblers that we were hoping to find. There is
always tomorrow!

We also saw a couple of Black Phoebes while looking for migrant passerines
along the Animas River in Durango.
