Peggy Wait and I birded through the Walden Ponds area and had a great time. No
rarities but lots of great birds!
White Pelicans-about 100 in feeding frenzies
White faced ibis-30
Yellow headed blackbirds
Red headed blackbirds-scads
Peregrine-male
Osprey-on nesting platform
Golden eagle
Red tailed hawk
yellow rumped warblers, Myrtle and Audobon-hoards
chestnut sided warbler---ok, I swear I saw a pair but didn't get great look
American goldfinches
flickers-wonderful courtship behaviors and "dances"
cinnamon teal
green winged teal
shovelers
scaup (common? greater?)
canada geese
mallards
gadwalls
pied billed grebe-wonderful courtship calls
heard marsh wrens and bitterns
robins
grackles
starlings

anyway, I'm sure I've missed some but it was just such a great time, thought I
would share.
thanks, Deb Carstensen, Littleton
