Monday afternoon visit to a rainy/snowy Spring Park resr, El Jebel
produced..

 

Star bird: breeding plumaged DUNLIN

Also ran:  a Peregrine stooping at unseen prey.  Result?  unknown

 

.         Western and Eared Grebes - many

.         Horned Grebe 2

Many ducks including Buffleheads, Common Goldeneye, Redheads, but no
mergansers, and no Blue-winged teal yet

.         Barrow's Goldeneye - still at least 35

Other shorebirds, gulls and more!

.         Wilson's Phalarope 2

.         Wilson's Snipe 1 displaying

.         Willet 2

.         Marbled Godwit 1

.         Greater Yellowlegs 2

.         Lesser Yellowlegs 18

.         Dowitcher spp 1

.         Bonaparte's Gull 2

.         Franklin's Gull 7

.         Ring-billed Gull 3

.         Tree Swallows 100's

 

Nearby at Blue Lake, El Jebel

 

.         Western Grebe 6

.         Eared Grebe 2

.         Ruddy Duck 3

.         Canada Goose 8

.         Northern Shoveler 7

.         Ring-necked Duck 3

.         Mallard 2

 

Nearby.. Ospreys building a new nest because they cannot "turf out" the
Canada Geese (same as per JB earlier), local FOS Vesper Sparrow,
