Hi COBirders, Another quiet early spring day at Chatfield. Finished 2 days of training for RMBO and Audubon Naturalists; school groups start tomorrow. We continued to welcome back bird friends from previous seasons (or maybe it's the other way around.....some of our recaps likely never left Chatfield!); 4 of the 10 new birds caught today were banded in a prior year. Here's the 10: Downy Woodpecker 1 Black-capped Chickadee 2 new, 1 return (banded 2010) House Wren (FOS) 1 return (banded 2007, recaught in 08, 09, 10) Hermit Thrush 1 American Robin 1 Spotted Towhee 1 return (banded 2010) Song Sparrow 1 return (banded 2007, recaught 08) Gambel's White-crowned Sparrow 1 Had our first bit of sun today; hoping for more tomorrow!
