I spent a profitable morning helping to dislodge some "beaver doings" at the
south bridge at Fountain Creek Nature Center and then conducting a nature walk
for an elementary school program. Aside from the usual suspects during my
time there, I observed a Great-horned owlet, White Pelicans (4), Avocets (2),
one blue-winged and one cinnamon teal, and a yellow warbler. Of particular
note was a small flock of semipalmated plovers (~20) that swooped and circled
North Pond for several minutes.
