I live on some ponds in Littleton. In the winter we have a large goose
population and with them come the droppings. The latest attempt of the board
to banish the geese is to install pulsating lights on and around the pond
that will frighten the geese and keep them from staying.
My concern is that it will also effect the other waterfowl on the
ponds which include a large variety of diving ducks, herons, cormorants, etc.
I've looked at the website of the company, Awaywithgeese.com , and they say
they have a huge success keeping geese away but I find no mention of the
other waterfowl.
Have any of you had experience with these types of lights and/or can
you lead me to a place I can get information on studies, etc, that concern
these lights?
I appreciate your help with this. I also know that the booming goose
population is a problem but would prefer not to have people spend too much
time on this aspect of the issue.
    Thanks, Deb Carstensen, Arapahoe county
