Besides the cool birds I found in my yard, there were a lot of nice birds on
the Canon City Riverwalk yesterday too. Western Tanagers are in and Gray
Catbirds are back (usually resident but I didn't see any this winter). I
saw several MacGillivray's Warblers plus several Wilson's Warblers. I also
found what I believe is a Cassin's Vireo, a pretty rare species in this area

Also on the Canon City Riverwalk were singing Lazuli Bunting (they breed
here) and a singing Green-tailed Towhee (though I was surprised,* Birds Of
North America* online states that the male birds do "begin singing during
spring migration." Black-headed Grosbeaks are paired up and already
building nests. Cowbirds had arrived and were giving their whistling calls
everywhere. Yellow-rumps still in good numbers and Black Phoebes still
there.

I have uploaded photos I took of a colorful male Western Tanager, the
probable Cassin's Vireo and soon the Wilson's Warblers and Black-headed
Grosbeaks onto my Birds And Nature <http://BirdsAndNature.blogspot.com>
