Adams County:
--A Winter Wren was reported by Sanders at Barr Lake SP on May 14..  It was
near the end of the Niedrach trail at the east end of the tunnel of trees.

Arapahoe County:
--Eastern Phoebes were reported by Stecher at Cherry Creek SP on the east
side on May 14.

Baca County:
--2 Northern Waterthrush were reported by Peterson at Two Buttes on May 15.

Bent County:
--1f Nashville Warbler was reported by Peterson at Van's Grove on May 15.
--At Tempel Grove on May 15, Peterson reported 2 Ovenbirds, 1 f Hooded
Warbler 1m Magnolia Warbler, 1m Black-throated Green Warbler, 1 Summer
Tanager, 1 Nashville Warbler , 1 Northern Waterthrush, 1 Worm-eating
Warbler.  Tempel Grove (Kiowa CR 35 at the Fort Lyon Ditch)  It is OK to
walk along the ditch road on either side of CR 35.  It is NOT OK to walk
around in their yard.  Please repect these rules for the nice folks who
fought hard to save the trees.

Boulder County:
--Lamorureux reported a Caspian Tern and several Red-necked Phalaropes at
Cottonwood Marsh, Walden Ponds on May 12.  Hansley reported on May 15, that
there are now 2 Caspian Terns at Cottonwood Marsh.
--At Golden Ponds in Longmont, Mlodinow reported a male Hooded Warbler and
singing male Blackpoll Warbler on May 14.  On May 15, Mlodinow reported
Tennessee Warbler at the east end of the trail along the creek, Hooded
Warbler at bridge over creek and Blackpoll Warbler.  Gent reported an
Eastern Phoebe at the bridge on May 15.
--A Tennessee Warbler was reported by Hansley at Sawhill Ponds in Boulder in
the back on May 15.
--On east CU Campus in Boulder on May 15, Gent reported a male
Black-throated Gray Warbler at the junction of the Skunk Creek and Boulder
Creek Trails.
--An Eastern Phoebe was reported by Gent on South Boulder Road at the bridge
over South Boulder Creek on May 15.
--A Blackpoll Warbler and Swamp Sparrow were reported by Floyd at Greenlee
Preserve in Lafayette on May 16.
--A Northern Waterthrush was reported by Heinrich at Sale Lake in Boulder on
May 16.

Crowley County:
--2 Piping Plovers were reported by Peterson on the dam road at Lake Henry
on May 15.

Delta County:
--A Black Phoebe was reported by Garrison on the north shore of the lake at
Confluence Park in Delta on May 15.

Denver County:
--A male SCISSOR-TAILED FLYCATCHER was reported by Henwood  at Marston
Reservoir.  It was on the south side of Marston along the fence separating
Marston from the Twin Shores Subdivision.    Kilpatrick refound the
SCISSOR-TAILED FLYCATCHER on the southwest side of the lake on May 14.
Henwod refound the SCISSOR-TAILED FLYCATCHER on May 16.   If you find the
house at 7413 W. Layton and stand in front of the sign NO TRESPASSING --
BIRD SANCTUARY you have a good chance to see the bird.

Douglas/Jefferson Counties:
--A Blackpoll Warbler was reported by Kilpatrick at Chatfield on May 14.

El Paso County:
--Pals reported the following birds on May 14 on the Fountain Creek Spring
Count:
1 Green Heron, 1 male Black-throated Blue Warbler, 1 male Black-throated
Gray Warbler,
1 male BAY-BREASTED WARBLER, 2 Northern Waterthrush.
--An singing EASTERN WOOD-PEWEE was reported by Bill Maynard at Hansen
Nature Park in Fountain Creek Regional Park on May 15.  The PEWEE was
refound by Pals on May 16.
--At Chico Basin Banding Station Gobris banded a PHILADELPHIA VIREO on May
12 and
reported 3 Blackpoll Warblers on May 15.

Fremont County:
--A Northern Waterthrush was reported by Moss on May 14 on the Canon City
Riverwalk.

Huerfano County:
--A RUBY-THROATED HUMMINGBIRD was reported by Nelder at her feeder on May 12
and it returned on May 13.  Nelder reports that the RUBY-THROAT continues at
least throught May 16.  Contact her at [email protected] for information.
--A Nashville Warbler was reported by Nelder in her yard on May 15.  Contact
her at [email protected] for information.
--An Indigo Bunting was reported on Ideal Road in La Veta by Nelder on May
15.

Jefferson County:
--On May 16, at Red Rocks Cameron reported Curve-billed Thrasher.
--A Northern Waterthrush was banded by McBurney at the RMBO Chatfield
Banding Station on May 14.  A Blackpoll Warbler and 2 Northern Waterthrush
were banded by McBurney at the RMBO Chatfield Banding Station on May 16.
--An Eastern Phoebe and Northern Waterthrush were reported by Henwood at
Bear Creek Lake Park on May 16.

Kit Carson County:
--A Summer Tanager was reported by Kaempfer in Burlington in the Safeway
Parking Lot on May 14.

La Plata County:
--2 GLOSSY IBIS were reported by Allerton at Pastorius Reservoir on May 15.

Larimer County:
--At Lake Estes on May 14, Matthews reported Black-and-white Warbler,
Blackpoll Warbler, and Palm Warbler.  Mlodinow refound the Black-and-white
Warbler on May 15.
--A Tennessee Warbler was reported by Bruening about 100 yards north of
Prospect Road bridge where it crosses the Poudre River in Fort Collins on
May 15.
--A Black Phoebe was reported by Biggerstaff at Dixon Reservoir in Fort
Collins on May 16.
--A Northern Waterthrush was reported by Leatherman along the Poudre River
near Prospect Road in Fort Collins on May 16.

Mesa County:
--Filby reported that the BLACK-CHINNED SPARROW continues on the Devil's
Kitchen Trail in Colorado National Monument on May 13.  Walker reported the
BLACK-CHINNED SPARROW on May 14 along with a Broad-winged Hawk.

Otero County:
--An imm Summer Tanager was reported by Chartier in La Junta at Subway on
May 15.
--A Northern Waterthrush was reported by Peterson at Rocky Ford SWA on May
15.

Prowers County:
--At Fairmount Cemetery on May 15, Peterson reported 1m Chestnut-sided
Warbler, 1m Blackpoll Warbler, 1m Magnolia Warbler.
--At Lamar Community College Woods on May 15, Peterson reported 1 singing
PHILADELPHIA VIREO, 1m Blackpoll Warbler, 1 Nashville Warbler, and 1f
Chestnut-sided Warbler.

Pueblo County:
--Percival reported a male Black-and-white Warbler and Northern Waterthrush
on May 14 at Valco Ponds parking lot in Pueblo.
--Percival reported a Yellow-throated Vireo on the north side of the
Arkansas River about 1/4 mile west of Pueblo Blvd on May 14.  This is
between Pueblo City Park and Pueblo Nature Center.

Washington County:
--A Northern Waterthrush was reported by Kaempfer at Last Chance on May 14.

Weld County:
--Dunning refound the BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKE at Windsor Reservoir on May 14.
--A f Black-throated Green Warbler was reported by Mlodinow at Crow Valley
Campground on May 16.

The DFO field trip for Saturday, May 21 will be to RIgli Ranch led by Joe
Rigli (970-768-7121).  Meet the leader at the ranch by 0830.  From Hudson,
go east on Co 52 until it turns north.  Don't turn north, but continue east
on Morgan County road F to CR 14, then turn north for aproximately one mile
to first house on left by boxcars.  Bring lunch and extra water.

The DFO field trip for the Memorial Day Weekend, Saturday, May 28 to May 30
will be
to Nebraska's Crescent Lake NWR led by Mary Cay Burger (303-771-3431) or
[email protected].  Meet leader at Hudson on I-76 at 8:30 am Saturday, May
28.  Will
drive to Nebraska for lots of great birding.  Possible other stops:  Ash
Hollow State Park, Wildcat Hills Rec Area, and Tamarack Ranch SWA.  You will
need to bring 3 lunches and 2 breakfasts and plan to eat 2 dinners in
restaurants.  Call or email leader for motel suggestions and carpolling
information.  Trip will return to Denver area by 6 pm on Monday, May 30.

The DFO field trip for Monday, May 30 will by to 88th and South Platte Trail
led by Jackie King (303-287-1644).  Meet the leader at 0800 at the parking
area at E. 88th and the South Platte River.  From I-76 take E 88th Ave exit,
go west on 88th for 1.6 miles, then turn south at Colorado Blvd.  Turn left
into parking lot for South Platte River Greenway Trailhead.  Trip will be
handicapped accessible.  Bring lunch and drinking water.
