Hello, While at Walden Ponds this morning, my husband and I saw 2 Caspian Terns on the sandy island back towards the Northwest corner of Cottonwood Marsh. They were spotted around 9:40am, Monday, May 23rd. I had not seen the Caspian Terns on Saturday, during the Walk on the Wild Side. We also had an American Bittern fly over and land in the reeds at the west side of Cottonwood Marsh around 9:20am. (Actually it was more like a fly-in-front-of.) It's doubtful we would have seen it in the reeds if we hadn't seen it fly in. We caught a glimpse of the Marsh Wren and a common yellowthroat. A couple Green Herons were along the far banks, in the reeds (two separate locations).
