I visited Lake John in Jackson County on Monday. The lake and annex are still high, but the area where the "Grebe nursery" has been in past years is receding, but I did not see any nesting birds. I had never experienced a "midge" hatch before...that was amazing.
I did get to photograph an Indigo Bunting. Several pelicans, but there seems to be not as many Western Grebes as previous years, but more Clark's with a few Eared Grebes.
