We stopped in Georgetown about 1 pm Tuesday for a brief visit with the Rufous-collared Sparrow. We didn't see it. BUT we did hear a song that we think probably belongs to this South American -- essentially 3 loud, clear whistles, unlike any other Colorado bird I can think of. Similar to some of the xeno-canto recordings.
The Trouble is: we heard two different birds singing this song--one from a spruce on the west side of 9th & Rose; one from across the street. One may, possibly, perhaps, have come from a House Finch.
