Hello, Birders. Here are a few observations from around Boulder County yesterday, Sunday, July 10th:
Brainard Lake. With Kei, Hannah, Andrew, and my parents, I heard and saw at least 4 SLATE-COLORED FOX SPARROWS in the extensive wet shrublands along the south shore of the lake. Real easy, just teed up and singing their heads off. Along the Long Lake Trail. Near the trailhead off the west side of Brainard Lake, Andrew and my father and I saw a nice adult male AMERICAN THREE-TOED WOODPECKER. The bird was flaking bark off a spruce at at 40.076561 N, 105.578656 W. Prince Lake No. 2. In the weedy fields along 111th street, my parents and I saw at least 3 DICKCISSELS. We just pulled up, and there they were, along the east side of the road. Wouldn't be surprised if there're a fair bit more of them out there. ------------------------------- Ted Floyd Editor, Birding Blog: http://tinyurl.com/2g2staq Twitter: http://tinyurl.com/2wj9djj Facebook: http://tinyurl.com/2wkvwxs ------------------------------- -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Colorado Birds" group.
