We did our first of four bird hikes this morning at the Crested Butte Wildflower Festival. We had a great group and were lucky to avoid the rain. We saw 28 species and had some great looks. The best for me was a diving Osprey at Peanut Lake who came up with a fish and gave us great views. In all my years here I have never seen an Osprey this high, 9000 ft., so it was great fun. We saw many Broad-tails but no Rufous. Nothing else unexpected but lots of songs and shows. Last week we scouted One mile campground and had a wonderful Clark's Nutcracker. Enjoy the show!
