COBirders,

I saw the Fremont County, Holcim Marsh Least Bittern reported by Rich Miller
around 0750 on Friday. It flew just above the tops of the cattails and
landed out of view as seen from the south side trail that runs parallel to
the railroad tracks, half way down. The bird was out about 150 feet. I saw
it once more about 20 minutes later, also very briefly in a very low and
very brief flight, but never when it had landed. Both looks were less than
desirable. The two Green Herons reported by Mark Peterson were loud and
flying about, up higher than the bittern, and sometimes flying together. A
male Indigo Bunting was along the west trail, most of the way to the
Arkansas River.

Traveling on Hwy 115 south from Colorado Springs is slow along two sections
were the northbound lane is being resurfaced and southbound traffic travels
on the narrow shoulder while northbound traffic travels on the southbound
lane.
