COBirders; The Least Bittern continues at Holcim Marsh, 08/06/11. I decided to try my luck this morning and had a similar viewing of the bittern as reported by Rich Miller and Bill Maynard. At 7:45am, the bird flushed from the south shore and flew north over the cattails and disappeared about 100+feet into the sea of green. I watched for about an hour before giving up. There were three White-faced Ibis in the SW corner/area when I arrived at 7am. Also seen in the NW corner of the pond was a Black Phoebe, probably one of those reported by Mark Peterson earlier this week.
