At least 2 days this week an all white hummingbird was seen by a home owner
at their feeders in the Salida area. I believe the bird is a true albino as
it has not only all white (rather than off-white or partial white) feathers,
pink feet, pink bill and reddish eye. The home owner took a few photos that
I have cropped and uploaded to my Birds and
Nature<http://BirdsAndNature.blogspot.com>blog. Though the photos
are pretty good, especially for a point and shoot
camera, I cannot tell if this is a Broad-tailed or Rufous Hummingbird both
of which are coming to the feeders. If anyone can identify the species,
please let me know.

If anyone is in the Salida area and would like to try for this very rare
hummer email me and I will put you in contact with the property owner who is
willing to let birders visit if the albino hummer returns.
