I just returned from a 4-day backpack patrol as a Poudre Wilderness Volunteer
for the USFS in the Rawah Wilderness.  There was a major migration of
Townsend's Warbler through the Medicine Bow Range on Friday and Saturday, but I
saw nary a one on Sunday or today.  They were seen between 9500 and 11000 feet
of altitude, and had some Audubon's Warblers mixed in with them.  It was hard
to get any kind of an estimate on how many, but my guess is that I saw at least
3 dozen Townsend's.  I also had a Northern Goshawk speed through the krumholz
at 11000 feet in pursuit of a small flock of juvenile White-crowned Sparrows,
just below Island and Carey Lakes at the top of the West Branch Trail.
