Dear CObirders--

I am beginning to collect photos for a presentation on birds which BCAS
(Boulder County Audubon) will use mostly for small groups who ask us to
"give a talk" (always for free. although I think they usually let us put out
a collection hat!)

I'm hoping to set the photos to music for a higher entertainment factor.
After the 10 minute "show," I'll finish up with some comments tailored to
the group and some samples of different types of feeders & houses.

But- (here is where CObirds comes in) I need tons of photos, because I am
NOT a bird photographer, alas. I hope to focus generally on Boulder County,
and mostly in the following categories:

--Yard birds (feeders, decks, etc may be in the photo; goldfinches, hummers
etc would be typical)

--Corvids (I know: who takes pix of magpies? But all corvids do lots of
funny or puzzling things; and people who are not birdwatchers are curious
about these behaviors: so-- a good place to start getting them interested)

--Plains birds (now narrowing down to habitats & ecotones: meadowlarks,
vesper sparrows etc )

--Meadow-fringe and riparian birds (bluebirds for example, yellow warblers
etc)

--Foothills & canyon/woodland birds (all the tits & cavity nesters etc)

--Nocturnals & dusk birds (owls, nighthawks, whippoorwills--hard to get!)

--Waterfowl (typical reservoir ducks & waders, herons etc)

If any of you are fiddling with your photo collection and think of me in the
next couple of weeks, please send me whatever you have that you're willing
to share. I'll put your name on the photo file & give credit at show's end.
Sorry, not in a position to pay! I can accept by email, on CD, or on a stick
if you've within driving distance of me.

I don't yet know what resolution I need these in (have to check on borrowed
projector needs (the "final output device," as the techies say), although
I've been told that generally a 1280 x 1024 pixels size will work. I can
downsize with Photoshop (I'm not totally useless). If any of you have advice
about software for shows, do share that too. Thanks to any who have time.

Linda
