Hi COBirders, Report for Rocky Mountain Bird Observatory bird banding at Chico Basin Ranch for Monday 9/12/2011.
89 new birds banded today, under much more normal circumstance - lots of birds early, and continuing through the morning - and still catching birds when we closed about 2pm. A big mixed flock of warblers made the nets yellow at 8am, and good diversity all day. (HY - Hatch year bird; AHY, After hatch year (adult) bird) FOS = first-of-season Banded today: Rufous Hummingbird (f) netted but not banded W Wood-Pewee - 6 Least Flycatcher - 1 Hammond's Flycatcher - 3 Dusky Flycatcher - 5 Red-eyed Vireo (FOS, HY bird) - 1 Blue Jay - 1 White-breasted Nuthatch (FOS, m, f) -2 House Wren -1 Swainson's Thrush - 1 Hermit Thrush (FOS) -2 Gray Catbird - 1 Brown Thrasher - 1 Townsend's Warbler (FOS, f) -1 Am Redstart (FOS, AHYf) -1 MacGillivray's Warbler (FOS) -3 Wilson's Warbler (Not FOS!) -46 W Tanager (FOS, 2HYm, 1AHYf) - 3 Green-tailed Towhee (FOS) -1 Chipping Sparrow - 8 Lark Sparrow - (f) -1 Lincoln's Sparrow (FOS) - 1 We will be banding all week - M-Sat., through 10/8/2011.
