Captures were slow but consistent all morning - a great opportunity to study
the 17 different species that we caught today (34 newly banded, 6 repeats
from this season, and a return that we banded last year).

The Magnolia that we banded on Saturday is still around - an active little
bird that can't seem to avoid the nets. We caught her first thing in the
low willows just SW of the station and then later in the morning about 100
meters NW in a net under some tall cottonwoods out closer to the water.

Our return, banded 9/5/10, is a one-legged Downy Woodpecker. Seemed
otherwise healthy, when he was banded and again today. We marveled as he
flew up into a tree and made his way up the trunk.

Here's the rundown of new captures for the day:

Downy Woodpecker 1 return

Dusky Flycatcher 2

House Wren 1
