A slow and somewhat strange morning at Barr: We opened in thick fog, the
nets dripping with moisture. We caught one recap Wilson's at 7:10 a.m., and
then did not catch (or even see or hear) another songbird until the sun
finally broke throught about 9:30. By 11:30 it was warm and the birds were
quiet again. Ended up with 14 new and 10 recaps of 10 species for our small
school group and a variety of adult visitors who dropped by today. Here are
the 14 new captures:

Dusky Flycatcher 1

Orange-crowned Warbler 1

Townsend's Warbler 2

Common Yellowthroat 1

Wilson's Warbler 6

Chipping Sparrow 2

Lincoln's Sparrow 1

Open 6 days a week, weather permitting. Next closed day is next Friday,
9/23.
