I decided to search for the Cassin's Kingbird fter work today that Ted Floyd reported on Saturday. I didn't have high hopes, but it was on my way home. Turning from County Line Rd. onto Niwot Rd. I saw a bird flying parallel with me while I was driving west. Sure enough, Cassin's Kingbird.
"The very first bird I laid binoculars on this morning, Saturday, Sept. 17th, was a Cassin's Kingbird along 115th Street south of Oxford Road, Boulder County. This is the road into Panama Reservoir. The bird was about 2,000 feet south of the intersection of Oxford and 115th, and it was present for at least half an hour. Cassin's Kingbird is rare, but possibly increasing and perhaps under-detected, in Boulder County."
