No one found the Black-throated Blue Warbler or the Philadelphia Vireo again
today, so we banded....guess what?.........Chipping Sparrows. Thirty of our
46 new birds today were Chippers, bringing the season total to 261. This
compares with 42 CHSPs at this time last year. On the other hand, we have
only banded 217 Wilson's Warblers, compared with 461 at this time last year.
(Overall, we are just slightly off of last year's numbers at this time, 984
vs 1015.) The other species allowing us to maintain similar total numbers
this year is Yellow Warblers, which are well above last year.

Here's the day's new bandings (we also had 13 recaps from recent days):

Sharp-shinned Hawk 1 (FOS)

House Wren 2
