Hi

It was absolutely gorgeous on the eastern plains today, with many of the
cottonwoods turning golden.

At Crow Valley flocks of Yellow-rumps were feasting in the russian olives. I
one flock just north of the kiosk included a Palm Warbler, also in the vicinity
were Townsend and Orange-crown Warblers, including several Townsend Solitaires.
Just past the gate at the north end of the campground, at small pond were
several species of sparrows, including Field, Clay-colored, Brewer's, Chipping
and lots of White-crowned Sparrows. Overhead a squadron of rattling sounding
Sandhill Cranes flying south. Also in the campground was a Red-bellied and
several "eastern" Hairy Woodpeckers and someone reported detecting a Chat

All and all a very satisfying hour and a half of bird watching.
