I was awakened at 5:50 a.m. today by the sound of a couple of Sandhill Cranes flying low over my house. Just yesterday morning five of us were birding in the grasslands NW of Boulder Reservoir and Christian Nunes heard cranes and said they sounded like they were coming from my house, which is in the foothills 5 miles NW of Boulder Reservoir. I'd never heard or seen them at my house before. David Waltman Boulder
