Greetings All,

I was not able to connect to internet yesterday, so here are yesterday's
highlights from Washington County

These are of varying degrees of interest, and interesting for various reasons.

1 Solitary Sand

1 Black-bellied Plover
369 Killdeer
42 American Avocet
52 Lesser Yellowlegs
2 Semi Sand
113 Least Sand
79 Stilt Sands
2000 American Coots
3 Herring Gulls (2 long-staying ads, and one new arrival juv)
1 Lesser BB Gull (adult, finally caught up with it; has been around for a while
1 Common Tern
Red-headed Woodpecker
Eastern Phoebe
1 Warbling Vireo
1 CAROLINA WREN (singing lots)
51 OC Warblers, narrowly beating out YR Warbler (50) for day's most numerous
warbler. About 5-10 of these were exceptionally dull, duller than I've seen so
far this fall, and caused me to think that the might be of the nominate race,
celata.
2 NASHVILLE WARBLERS (1 very dull, long tailed, wagging tail lots - must of
been western bird; other ???)
1 YELLOW WARBLER (late!!!)
4 White-throated Sparrows
1 BLUE GROSBEAK (late!!!)

There was also a WINTER WREN on the wooded crossdike at the base of the lake at
Akron GC.

The day was fabulous, with 80+ species just at Prewitt. For some reason, in
OCTOBER of all things, the mosquitos went nuts, making birding the inlet canal
a chore, though a birdy one. The area below the dam was a big YAAAWWWNNNN.
