The area between Valco Ponds parking lot and the Fish Hatchery Ponds (the two ponds with the chain link fence surrounding them, west of the Valco Ponds parking lot), closer to the bluff than the river was quite birdy this morning. One flock of birds not too far east of the fish hatchery ponds had a Dickcissel and a Red-naped Sapsucker, among other birds. Further east there was a very interesting flock of birds that included a Blue-headed Vireo, a Cassin's Vireo, a Plumbeous Vireo, a Warbling Vireo, and a Townsend's Warbler.
