As Tina Jones indicated, the immature Little Blue Heron first seen by Chuck Aid, is still present on the Jefferson County side of Chatfield Reservoir. To reach it, park in the lot northwest of "Kingfisher Bridge" and walk north along the east side of the large cove, which lies immediately north of the parking lot. After 2-300 yards. this trail turns west and crosses the northern end of the cove. Stop at this point (before you get your feet wet) and look north. The heron was on the mud flats about 100 yards north of the point where this trail becomes both paved and submerged. If the bird goes a few more yards (say 150) north, it would be visable from the Swim Beach on the west side of the reservoir. You may even be able to see it now from the heron overlook.
