Finishing off a tour through the northern prairie I stopped at Timnath, often a place of pleasant surprises. I got a good look at an adult lesser blacked backed gull, which spent most of it's time on the sandbar with back facing the parking area. It stood up for about a minute and faced sideways, really a great view. Further east in Weld Co on CR 122 and 124 I had plenty of lapland longspurs and 5 birds of prey, including rough legged and ferruginous hawks on the roadside telephone wires.
