This season I have had a disproportionate amount of Cassiar's Juncos (J. h.
cismontanus) at my feeders. They outnumber all other races for the last
month - even gray-headed!

Correct me if I am wrong, but this should be the only male-plumaged Junco
with a distinct hooded effect and grayish flanks - and no other coloring.
All other hooded type races would have pinkish-to-brownish flanks. Not
trying to differentiate female-plumaged possibilities between cassiar and
Oregon.

In addition, I just now have a distinct gray-headed junco (exact match in
all aspects with the birds that breed here) except that it has pink flanks.
I have never seen that combination before.

Still missing the white-winged race (aikenii) from my feeders this year.
