Campbell reported on December 25 that the PINE WARBLER continues to visit the suet feeder. Please contact Campbell at 303-771-0897. --A SNOWY OWL was reported by Walbek at Aurora Reservoir on the east side on December 24. There is a daily $10 fee. On December 28, Kilpatrick was able to scope the dam of Aurora Reservoir from a neighborhood to the south and found the SNOWY OWL. Directions from Roller: park at intersection of Quantico and SouthShore and take the footpath towards the small brown-roof outhouse. About a 20 min walk to south entrance. --At Aurora Reservoir on December 26, Roller reported 2 Lesser Black-backed Gulls (1 ad, 1 1-st cyc) and 1 Thayer's Gull. Boulder County: --On the Boulder CBC on December 18, Severs reported GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW. Directions for the GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW: park in Teller Farms North Parking Lot on Valmont west of 95th St. The bird feeds along the east end of the juniper stand which is on the south side of the parking lot. The ad GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW was refound by Halsey at the N Teller Farm Parking Lot on December 25. --A 1-st cyc Thayer's Gull was reported by Floyd at Valmont Reservoir on December 25. --A 1-st cyc Thayer's Gull was reported by Floyd at Waneka Lake in Lafayette on December 26. Broomfield County: -- At Anthem Park Lake, Plage reported 1 Glaucous Gull (1-st cyc) and 1 Thayer's Gull (1-st cyc) on December 28. The park is south of E-470 and east of Lowell. Denver County: --A female type Long-Tailed Duck was reported by Wuerthele at Duck Lake in City Park on November 22 and was relocated by Wuerthele on December 21. El Paso County: --A Long-tailed Duck was reported by Driscoll on a lake by I-25 and S Circle Drive on December 10. On December 23, Bill Maynard reported that the Long-tailed Duck continues at the Doubletree Hotel Pond. --A juv Thayer's Gull was reported by Percival at the Midway Landfilll on December 21. The landfill is west of I-25 at Exit 119 --A Harris's Sparrow was reported by Percival at the feeders at Fountain Creek Regional Park on December 21. --A White-throated Sparrow was reported by Chartier at the feeders at Fountain Creek Regional Park on December 26. Garfield County: --A pair of Long-tailed Ducks was reported by Dahl at Rifle Gap Reservoir on December 23. Huerfano County: --All three species of Rosy-Finches have returned to the yard of Beverly Jensen in La Veta on December 19. On December 22, Jensen reported hundreds of Rosy-Finches visiting her yard. Jefferson County: --Mlodinow reported that the GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW was seen at Red Rocks Trading Post on December 25. --All three species of Rosy-Finches were reported by Smart at Red Rocks Trading Post on December 23. --At Bear Creek Lake Park, Henwood reported 2 Harris's Sparrows (1 ad, 1 1-st yr) on December 5. On December 23, Henwood refound the ad Harris's Sparrow at Bear Creek Lake Park. --A PINE WARBLER was reported by Roller at Denver West Office Park on December 19. It was with a mixed flock of junco, chickadees and nuthatches in a riparian area of Lena Gulch which is east of Bldg 4. On December 25, Mlodinow refound the PINE WARBLER at Denver West Office Park. Larimer County: --A juv YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER was reported by Leatherman at Grandview Cemetery in Fort Collins on December 21. On December 28, Mammoser refound the YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER. --3 Long-tailed Ducks were reported by Kaempfer on the Rawhide Energy CBC on December 24. --At Lake Loveland on December 26, Komar and Mlodinow reported the following: 6 Thayer's Gulls (1ad, 5 juv), 2 imm Glaucous Gulls, 2 Lesser Black-backed Gulls (1 ad, 1 3-rd cyc). --At Lake Loveland on December 28, Komar reported 6 Thayer's Gulls (1 ad, 1 2-nd cyc, 4 1-st cyc), 5 Lesser Black-backed Gulls (3 ad, 1 3-rd cyc, 1 juv), 1 Glaucous Gull (1-st cyc) and 1 possible Vega Gull. Logan County: --7 Common Redpoll were reported by Mlodinow on the west side of CR 27 between CR 26 & CR 34 on December 24. --300+ Lapland Longspurs and 1 Chesnut-collared Longspur were reported by Mlodinow at a large Prairie Dog Town on CR 27 between CR 38 & CR 44 on December 24. Montrose County: --3 TUNDRA SWANS were reported by Dexter in a hayfield west of Nucla on December 22. They flew SE towards Norwood and the San Miguel River. Pueblo County: --An ad MEW GULL was reported by Rich Miller at Minnequa Lake in Pueblo on December 28. Minnequa Lake is in S Pueblo near St Mary-Corwin Hospital. --At Pueblo Reservoir south shore marina, Rich Miller reported 2 imm Glaucous Gulls and 1 Lesser Black-backed Gull on December 28. Sedgwick County: --A Red-bellied Woodpecker was reported by Mlodinow in the town of Sedgwick on December 24. Weld County: --A f Red-bellied Woodpecker was reported by Rashd in the NW Corner of Crow Valley CG on December 27. Rashid also reported that a small flock of Common Redpolls flew over but could not be found in the CG. Christmas Counts started on December 14.
