Adams County:
--A m & f Barrow's Goldeneye was reported by Gilberts on the Platte River
approx. 2 blocks So. of the parking area at 78th St. and Steele on January
4.  Kibbe refound the pair of Barrow's Goldeneyes on January 7.
-  A SNOWY OWL  was found by  Peter Plage on the Barr Lake CBC on January
2.   Directions:  Take Bromley Lane (152nd) east from I-76 and go 2 miles
past Piccadilly to Harvest Road.  Turn right and go south to 144th.
On January 8, McBurney report both SNOWY OWLS could be seen from 138th Ave
and Harvest Rd.  The adult was to the south and the young one to the north.
 On January 10, Kemena reported the adult SNOWY OWL could be seen with a
scope from 138th and Harvest to the NW.
--An ad SNOWY OWL was reported by Vallieres near DIA on January 5.  From
E-470, take 96th east until it curves north, go another .3 to .5 mile
further north and look at the snowy field to the NW.

Arapahoe County:
--A Lesser Black-backed Gull was reported by Hudak at Centennial Park, on
the ice shelf, on January 3.  On January 5, Hudak refound the Lesser
Black-backed Gull.

Boulder County:
--On the  Boulder CBC on December 18, Severs reported GOLDEN-CROWNED
SPARROW.  Directions for the GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW:  park in Teller Farms
North Parking Lot on Valmont west of 95th St.  The bird feeds along the
east end of the juniper stand which is on the south side of the parking
lot.     On January 5, Bolton refound the GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW at Teller
Farms parking lot.
--A TUNDRA SWAN was reported by Kaempfer at Valmont Reservoir on January 7.

Broomfield County:
--1 ad. Glaucous Gull, and 1 ad. Lesser Black-backed Gull, were reported by
Boswell, at Siena Pond, which is at Sheridan Parkway & Lowell Blvd. on
January 4.  On January 5, Filby reported an imm Glaucous Gull at Siena Pond.
On January 7, Mlodinow reported 2 Thayer's Gulls (1 ad, 1 juv), 2 Glaucous
(1 ad, 1 imm), 1 Lesser Black-backed Gull (nearly adult).  On January 9 at
Siena Pond, Filby reported 6 Thayer's Gulls (2 ad, 4 juv), 2 Glaucous Gulls
(1ad, 1 imm) and 1 ad Lesser Black-backed Gull.
--1 ad. Glaucous Gull was reported by Boswell, at the the pond at Lowell &
Indian Peaks Parkway, on January 4.
--On January 7 at the Anthem Ponds, Gent reported 2 1-st cyc Glaucous
Gulls, 1 nearly ad Lesser Black-backed Gull and 1 imm Thayer's Gull.  On
January 7, Mlodinow reported 7 Thayer's Gulls (2 ad, 4 juv, 1 2-nd cyc), 2
Glaucous Gulls (both 1-st winter) at Anthem Ranch Pond.  On January 9,
Filby reported 4 Thayer's Gulls (3 ad, 1 juv) and 1 Lesser Black-backed
Gull (3 rd winter).

Delta County:
--A TRUMPETER SWAN was reported by  Garrison at Confluence Park on January
4.

Denver County:
--A female type Long-Tailed Duck was reported by Wuerthele at Duck Lake in
City Park on November 22 and was relocated by Dunning on January 9.

El Paso County:
--A Harris Sparrow was reported by Teuton at the feeders at Fountain Creek
Regional Park on January 3.  The Harris's Sparrow returned to the feeder
for Taylor on January 7.
--All 3 species of Longspurs were reported by Peterson on Tamlin Road east
of Colorado Springs on January 8.  They were near  where road goes from
paved to dirt.

Garfield County:
--10 Barrow's Goldeneyes (including 2 ad m) were reported by Filby at
Coryell Ranch in Carbondale on January 8.

Huerfano County:
--Once again the Rosy-Finches have returned to the yard of Beverly Jensen
in La Veta on January 8.  Please contact her at [email protected].

Jefferson County:
--Spencer reported that a Fox Sparrow was seen at the Red Rocks Trading
Post on January 4.
--Henwood reported that the GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW on January 8 put on a
good show for the DFO Field Trip at Red Rocks Trading Post.
--At Bear Creek Lake Park, Henwood reported 2 Harris's Sparrows (1ad, 1
1-st winter) on December 5.  On January 10, Drummond found both Harris's
Sparrows by the parking lot at the Boat Launch Area.
 --At Upper Church Ranch Lake, Kaempfer reported 1 1-st cyc Thayer's Gull
on January 7.
 --A Greater Roadrunner was reported by Roller on Dinosaur Ridge on January
9.  On January 10, Roller's Raiders had quick views of the Greater
Roadrunner on Dinosaur Ridge.

Larimer County:
--3 Long-tailed Ducks were reported by Kaempfer on December 24 on the
Rawhide CBC.  3 Long-tailed Ducks were reported by Leatherman at Hamilton
Reservoir. The ducks were basically on the north side of the res., on
January 4.  On January 5, Leatherman again found the 3 Long-tailed Ducks at
Hamilton Reservoir.
--A juv YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER was reported by Leatherman at Grandview
Cemetery in Fort Collins on December 21,  Leatherman refound it on January
3.
--On the Loveland CBC on January 1, Komar reported TUNDRA and TRUMPETER
SWAN on Cattail Pond.  On January 7, the Such boys refound the TRUMPETER
SWAN at Cattail Pond and reported 1 ad Thayer's Gull at Lon Hagler
Reservoir.

Mesa County:
--2+ White-winged Doves were reported  by Arnold along Mesa Ave just south
of Rocket Park in Grand Junction on January 5.
--A Swamp Sparrow was reported by Arnold at the mitigation pond along the
Blue Heron Trail in Grand Junction on January 6.

Morgan County:
--At Jackson Reservoir on January 8, Mlodinow reported 1 m Barrow's
Goldeneye, 11 Thayer's Gulls (9 ad, 2 imm), 2 Lesser Black-backed Gulls (1
ad, 1 3-rd cyc), and 1 imm Glaucous Gull.

Montrose County:
--38 Black and 1 Brown-capped Rosy-Finches were reported by Cooper on Hwy
92 south of the crossing of Crystal Creek near Maher on January 7.

Pueblo County:
--At Pueblo Reservoir South Shore Marina on January 5, Dan Maynard reported
7 ad Thayer's Gulls, 4 Lesser Black-backed Gulls (2 ad, 2 1-st cyc), 2
Glaucous Gulls (1-st cyc), and 2 ad GREATER  BLACK-BACKED GULLS
 --A Rusty Blackbird was reported by Mlodinow at Valco Ponds on January 1 &
Teuton refound the Rusty Blackbird on January 3.
--A Greater Roadrunner was reported by Dan Maynard at the Valco Bridge on
January 5 and a Winter Wren was above the bridge.
--A Snow Bunting was heard flying over Rose Pond at Chico Basin on January
6 by Bill Maynard.

Weld County:
--A f Red-bellied Woodpecker was reported by Rashid in the NW Corner of
Crow Valley CG on December 27.  On January 5 at Crow Valley, Leatherman
reported f Red-bellied Woodpecker and Northern Mockingbird.
--Lapland Longspurs were reported by Lefko along CR 124 between CR 69 and
CR 75 on January 8.

The DFO Field Trip for Saturday, January 14 will be the Annual Rosy-Finch
trip to Fawn Brook Inn led by Nina Routh and Mike Serruto.  Meet the leader
at the Wagon Road Park N Ride at I-25 and 120th Ave at 8:30 am.  This will
be a 3/4 day trip returning 3-ish.  Will check out feeders at Fawn Brook
Inn in Allenspark for various rosy-finches and other winter birds.
Afterwards will go to Lyons for lunch at Oscar Blue's and bird around the
Lyons area.  If you have questions call Nina at 303-987-8687.  Directions
to Park N Ride:  Exit I-25 on 120th and go west about 2 blocks.  Turn South
at Wendy's.  Park N Ride is right there in the 1st block S of 120th.

The DFO Field Trip for Sunday, January 15 will be to the Silverthrone Area
led by Norm Erthal.  Meet the leader at 8:30 am in the parking lot on the
NW quadrant of I-70 and US 40 intersection.  Going west on I-70, exit at
Exit 259.  Parking lot on NW corner if this intersection.  This is
approxiamtely a 3/4 day trip returning at 2-3 pm.  Bring warm clothes,
