Spent a couple of hours out locally around Carbondale today. The Coryell Ranch Pond had 25 Barrow's Goldeneyes (incl 7 adult males) at about 9.40am I cruised Hwy82, and Missouri Heights and found several other nice birds today including Northern Shrike Rough-legged Hawk 5 Bald Eagles 2 Great Horned Owls Merlin At home the Lesser Goldfinches continue in the yard, despite several visits today from our very successful imm male Sharp-shinned Hawk..
