Thanks to Deb Carstensen's prompt post, and that I live very near Dinosaur 
Ridge, I went over and finally successfully saw the Roadrunner at 3:20pm, on 
the first rock outcrop on the left of the "service" road, before you even come 
to the first point-of-interest displays as you walk up on the west side, 
approximately 200 yards up from the gate.  I was able to observe it for only 
about 5 minutes before it went back up the hill.  Got a few pictures.  It was 
definitely doing the spread-feathers-to-expose-black-back to help warm up thing.
