Forwarded from Boulder County Nature Net:

Boulder County Audubon monthly meeting

Tuesday, January 24, 7:15 p.m.; Boulder Unitarian Universalist Church, 5100
Pennsylvania Ave.

University of Colorado's Rebecca Safran and Martin Vitiousek will share
their fascinating research on the role of sexual selection in shaping
behavior and appearance of barn swallows. What makes males attractive to
females? And why are some traits (such as long tails) favored by some female
populations while other traits (such as bright colors) are favored by
others? How have these preferences shaped barn swallow evolution and
divergence?

Free and open to all. Please join us for socializing around 6:45.
