Today my family and I decided to go birding at Valmont Res. And the areas around it here is what we saw. Valmont Res.: 1 Tundra Swan 15 Red-breasted Merganser 1 Eared Grebe 14 Hooded Mergansers
Cottonwood Marsh and the Boulder Creek Tail: 1 American Dipper 1 Yellow-rumped Warbler 1 Hairy Woodpecker (Eastern) 1 White-breasted Nuthatch 5 White-crowned Sparrows 6 Song Sparrows The Yellow-rumped Warbler was found first (I believe) by the Boulder Birding Club this morning and we were directed there by them. The bird was where it was last year, the first river bend by the Water Treatment Facility. It hopped around in trees that looked like willows and when it flew up and down the river it gave it's "chit" call. Skyler Bol Ft.
