When going to Erie Rez, another viewing tip is to go into the shopping center, when heading north on 287, as if you were going into the Safeway. Park on the east side of the vacant Shell Lube building (no worries, it's been vacant for 5 yrs or so). You can walk a few yards to view most of the Rez from a high vantage point and with the sun at your back, in the winter, at least. You can also go to the east end of the back of the Safeway and view the Rez from there, although it requires more walking. The aerator has been keeping the Rez relatively open for several weeks.
