Hi All,
Took a brief trip to the feeders at the Red Rocks Trading Post this
morning. As is often the case, the first year White-crowned Sparrow
put in an appearance under the upper apple tree followed shortly
thereafter by the Golden-crowned Sparrow in the same location (about
7:20 a.m.). Did not see any Rosy-Finches - probably have to wait
until the next snow.
Stopped by the backside of SHIPROCK (upper South Parking Lot), heard
some Ravens calling, then a Prairie Falcon flew over the top of
SHIPROCK, and shortly thereafter I spotted a Golden Eagle being chased
along the hillside by two Ravens. Maybe some territorial disputes???
