Hi All,

Rained out yesterday. Today was a beautiful day to be outside - cool,
crisp, sunny - despite not catching many birds:

Gray Flycatcher 1 (FOS)

Gray Catbird 2

Yellow-breasted Chat 1

Spotted Towhee 1

Lincoln's Sparrow 3

I just looked at last year's data. Turns out we had slow days at this time
of spring last year as well. But, more importantly, I'm ready to declare
that some of our most common species are arriving earlier. Here are some
arrivals this year compared with last (which was a pretty typical year):

GRFL - FOS last year was 5/13.

GRCA - FOS last year was 5/10. We caught our FOS this year 5/5, and they
are back in numbers.

YBCH - FOS last year was 5/14. We caught our FOS this year 5/6, and they
also are back in numbers.

YEWA - FOS last year was 5/6; this year it was 5/1.
