Cobirders,
This morning Eric Zorawowicz and I birded the Sawhill-Walden Ponds Complex.
Overall, migration was very slow with a distinct lack of warblers, other
than yellow, and sparrows. The complete ebird checklist is below. The
highlights were 2 green herons and a singing Warbling Vireo (Eastern).
Additionally we stopped at Boulder Creek along 75th Street where it was
great to see a successful American dipper nesting operation. The parents
were feeding a begging juvenile. Photos can be seen on my flickr site.

On my way home I was also able to observe one male bobolink in the fields
north of Baseline (Bobolink Trail Area).
Baseline Reservoir was quiet compared to recent days with only a few
American white pelicans, ring-billed gulls, ducks, and the omni-present
immature bald eagle.

Submitted from BirdLog NA for iOS, version 1.4.2 Temperatures ranged from
54-63F. Clear and sunny with very little breeze. Also observed checkered
white and painted lady butterflies.

counter-singing with a western race bird. The two were briefly observed
together on the same bare branch. The eastern bird was more yellow on the
sides and vent that the paler western race bird.
