Hi birders, An article summarizing the current Dickcissel irruption can be found here:
http://ebird.org/content/ebird/news/dickcissel2012 I have observed several singing males in our atlas block Hygiene SE but am trying to find some birds that have avoided multiple hay cuts for a successful nest. So if you have atlas blocks in appropriate habitat in our western plains/foothills interface, it might be worth revisiting your block to see if you have breeding Dickcissels. I have my eye on a nice weedy patch with lots of annual sunflower. Best, --Scott Scott E.
