So, upon reviewing my pics of said Eastern Wood-Pewee (I only got the more cooperative adult bird on "film"), I must say that a certain level of uncertainty has crept in. In the field, side-by-side comparison with Western Wood-Pewee showed birds of equal size. The bill shape from beneath seemed typical of a pewee. However, in the photos, the primaries are distinctly too short for a pewee. Yet the bird called like a pewee. However, these discrepancies, in particular the issue of the primary length, is sufficient to make me uncertain of the ID. So, flycatcher spp??? it is for those two birds. Alas.
