Adams County:
--A Winter Wren was banded by McBurney at Barr Lake on October 9.
--A Harris's Sparrow was reported by Breitsch at Barr Lake on the S side
feeders at the Visitors Center on October 11.
--At Barr Lake Banding Station on October 12, McBurney banded PHILADELPHIA
VIREO, Winter Wren, Field Sparrow, and 2 White-throated Sparrows.

Arapahoe County:
--A GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW was reported by Hudak at Centennial Park on
October 10.  It was at the S end of oxbow lake which is off the N side of
the big lake N of the covered picnic area.  Centennial Park is at 4630 S.
Decataur, Englewood.  It is off W Union between S Federal and S Santa Fe
Drive.

Baca County:
--At Two Buttes below the dam on October 11, Leatherman reported Winter
Wren, Eastern Phoebe, and heard a Northern Cardinal.

Bent County:
--At Tempel Grove on October 12, Leatherman reported Winter Wren, Carolina,
Wren, 3 White-throated Sparrows, imm Harris's Sparrow, BLUE-HEADED VIREO,
Nashville Warbler, and 2 Eastern Phoebe.

Boulder County:
--A Red-necked Grebe was reported by Deininger at McIntosh Lake in Longmont
on October 7.  Komar refound the Red-necked Grebe on October 10.
 --A GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW was reported by Severs at windbreak of Teller
Farms Parking Lot on October 9.  This is the third year that this sparrow
has appeared at this spot.

Douglas/Jefferson Counties:
--At Plum Creek Delta woods at Chatfield SP, Walbek reported a PHILADELPHIA
VIREO on October 7.

El Paso County:
--A 1st winter tan-striped White-throated Sparrow was reported by Pals at
Fountain Creek Nature Center feeders on October 12.

El Paso/Pueblo Counties:
--At Chico Basin Ranch near the banding station on October 7, Percival
reported Worm-eating Warbler, Northern Parula, Winter Wren, 2 Swamp
Sparrows, and 2 White-throated Sparrows; and at marsh at HQ a Swamp Sparrow
and an Eastern Phoebe at Rose Pond.
--At Chico Basin Ranch near banding station on October 8, Drummond reported
2 Swamp Sparrows and 2 White-throated Sparrows and by Rose Pond a Nashville
Warbler and Eastern Phoebe.

Fremont County:
--At Florence River Park on October 7, Kosar reported Green Heron and
Nashville Warbler.

Huerfano County:
--At Lathrop SP, Neldner reported a Tennessee Warbler at Martin Lake and 2
Winter Wrens at a wildlife pond between Martin Lake and Horseshoe Lake on
October 7.

Jefferson County:
--A Palm Warbler was reported the Henwood at Bear Creek Lake Park on
October 7.
--A Western Palm Warbler was reported by Schottler at Belmar on October 8.

Kit Carson County:
--At Stratton on October 7, Peterson reported 2 White-throated Sparrows.
--At Flager Golf Course on October 7, Peterson reported Swamp Sparrow, 2
White-throated Sparrows, and Palm Warbler.
--At Flager SWA on October 7, Peterson reported 3 White-throated Sparrows.
--At Flager SWA on October 12, Walbek reported Wood Thrush, f EASTERN
TOWHEE, and 5-6 White-throated Sparrows.

Larimer County:
--A PHILADELPHIA VIREO and White-throated Sparrow were reported by Komar
 on October 8 in W Fort Collins in green space along a canal between West
Lake St & Prospect St, just W of Cedarwood Road.  Komar reported that the
PHILADELPHIA VIREO continues in the same area on October 9.

Morgan County:
--On October 8 at Jackson Lake SP, Mlodinow reported 28 American
Golden-Plovers, juv Thayer's Gull, ad Lesser Black-backed Gull, and 15
White-throated Sparrows.
--On October 12, Wilberding reported that American Golden-Plovers continue
at Jackson Lake SP.

Phillips County:
--At Holyoke Cemetery on October 7 in 4-6" of snow, Kellner reported
YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER, White-throated Sparrow, and Blackburnian Warbler.
--At Holyoke City Park on October 7, Kellner reported YELLOW-BELLIED
SAPSUCKER and Red-bellied Woodpecker.
--At Holyoke in a thicket on October 7, Mark Peterson reported 9
White-throated Sparrows.

Prowers County:
--A western Palm Warbler was reported by Leatherman at Fairmount Cemetery
in Lamar on October 9.
--A f Indigo Bunting was reported by Leatherman at Riverside Cemetery in
Lamar on October 9.
--At Thurston Reservoir at the E end near outlet canal, Leatherman reported
3 Swamp Sparrows and 8 White-throated Sparrows on October 8.
--At Riverside Cemetery in Lamar on October 12, Leatherman reported Eastern
Phoebe and Nashville Warbler.
--A Nashville Warbler was reported by Leatherman at Lamar Community College
Woods on October 12.
--A White-winged Dove was reported by Leatherman on 1st St in Lamar, N of
Willow Creek Park on October 12.
--A Swamp Sparrow was reported by Leatherman by the Arkansas River E of
Lamar at CR 13.

Pueblo County:
--At Lake Pueblo SP on October 7, Cici Lee reported at Rock Canyon Palm
Warbler and White-throated Sparrow, 2 Black Phoebes at Valco Ponds, and a
Curve-billed Thrasher at Snakeskin Picnic Area.
--A probable PACIFIC WREN was reported by Percival W of Valco Ponds Parking
Lot on October 12.

Sedgwick County:
--On CR 40 just N of the Phillips/Sedgwick County Line on October 7,
Kellner reported a Harris's Sparrow.
--At Duck Creek SWA on October 7, Kellner reported Swamp Sparrow and Winter
Wren.

Washington County:
--At Last Chance on October 8, Mlodinow reported a HERMIT WARBLER kitty
corner from the rest stop in sunflowers and weeds and Black-throated Blue
Warbler.
--At Last Chance on October 9, Kathy Mihm Dunning relocated the HERMIT
WARBLER on the same corner and the warbler was
seen by many other birders.  On October 11, Walbek and Kilpatrick refound
the HERMIT WARBLER on the same corner.
On October 12, Deininger reported that the HERMIT WARBLER flew north from
an Elm by the Mailbox at 7:13 am.  Roller reported
that the HERMIT WARBLER was not found between 9:30 - 10:30 am on October 12.
--At Last Chance on October 9, Breitsch reported imm Harris's Sparrow, 2
Nashville Warblers, Winter Wren, and cooperative Black-throated Blue
Warbler.
--At Last Chance on October 10, Lawrence reported Winter Wren and
White-throated Sparrow.
--At Last Chance on October 12, Roller reported a probable YELLOW-BELLIED
SAPSUCKER.

Weld County:
--3-5 White-throated Sparrows were reported by Righter at Crow Valley CG on
October 12.

Yuma County:
 --On Hwy 385, S of CR 44.5 on October 7, Peterson reported a Palm Warbler.
--At Foster's Grove CG at Bonny on October 7, Peterson reported 4
White-throated Sparrows and White-eyed Vireo.
--At Wagon Wheel CG at Bonny on October 7, Peterson reported 2 Eastern
Phoebes.

The DFO Field Trip for Saturday, October 13 will be to Central South Platte
River led by Jackie King (720-381-3314).  Meet the leader at 0800 at
parking Lot Walnut at 4th and Walnut St on the Auraria Campus.  Will walk
along the greenbelt and see what birds are living in the heart of downtown
Denver.  Bring drinking water and snacks for a half day trip.  Leader uses
a scooter for mobility so the trip will be accessible for handicapped.
 Parking costs $2 for all day.  From I-25 take Speer Blvd South to Auraria
Parkway, then turn right to 7th St.  At 7th St turn left one block to
Walnut.  Turn right onto Walnut and continue to 4th and you will see the
parking lot on the South side of the street.  Please call the leader if
going.  Meeting place is very close to the Light Rail Station.

The DFO event for Sunday, October 14,  will be The Big Sit led by Joey
Kellner (303-978-1748).  The meeting place is the Heron-Over-look at
Chatfield State Park.  From Wadsworth  Blvd entrance, go right at the T and
continue around the reservoir.  After you cross the South Platte River make
a hard left into the large parking lot label Heronry Overlook.  At the far
right corner a trail leads down to the Heron Overlook.  Come and join Joey
and other recruits any time after dawn.  Stay for an hour, all morning, or
all day.  Bring chairs, breakfast, lunch, dinner.  Bring binoculars,
scopes, field guides, and other essential birding equipment.  State Parks
Pass required.
