I found a dark Harlan's Hawk at dusk over the week-end in Canon City and
another one in Penrose, about 20 ne of Canon City, on Sunday. On Monday
I was surprised to see a Great Egret fishing at a private pond in the Canon
City area, getting late for this species.

I found (or likely refound) a juvenile Yellow-bellied Sapsucker at
Centennial Park yesterday and a good number of Wiliamson's Sapsuckers
around town (3 males and 2 females)--they are still moving around quite a
bit as they often do early in the wintering (versus winter) season here.

I have posted photos of one of the male Williamson's Sapsuckers I was able
to get close-up (but without disturbing him, he was still feeding in same
area of the same tree when I left). Very striking plumage on these guys.
Also a photo of one of the dressed-to-blend-in females.
