Hey all, This afternoon at about 1:30PM, Amber and I were in Greeley near Sanborn (Westlake) Park where I saw hundreds of Canada Geese, so I decided to stop and scan the crowds. There was one lone Blue morph Snow Goose hanging out with a group of Canada's near the North-east shore. It foraged for awhile before flying with the group to the lawn just behind the King Soopers.
I was also amazed at the diversity of size of the "white-cheeked" geese! There were plenty of large Canada's, and many tiny Cackling geese, some of which were no larger than nearby Mallards. It seems that Sanborn Park is a great place to learn the differences between the different species and sub-species of Canada / Cackling geese. Good Birding!
