Hi all, I have not seen the 3 Scoters at Marston Reservoir since 12/8. On 12/9
, a friend and I looked all over the place for them at the lake and another
lake with o luck. 12/10, I did not look at Marston. Today, 12/11, I found 1,
White-winged Scoter in the northern section of Marston Reservoir, [first winter
juvenile]. I looked at other lakes in the area and could not find the Surf or
other White-winged Scoters. I'm assuming the first winter White-winged Scoter
today is the same one who has been here for a long time ??? Birds were way down
in numbers and I did not see a Loon today. I think alot of birds took off when
the extreme cold front came in.Common and Hooded Mergansers were at the lake,
along with many Goldeneyes,[no Barrow's yet]. The lake was pretty quiet, with
everthing way out in the middle of the water. Happy Birding !Tina
