We just got home from a long day "up north" and we had a lot of fun. Jeanne and
I were joined by Lynne Miller and E.B. Ellis.

We tried for the gull at the beginning and end of the day at Chatfield, but
could not find it. In between those times we went to Loveland looking for the
Brant. We got there around 10:15 this morning and checked out Lake Loveland
before moving to the LHS playing fields. Just as we got there an off-the-leash
dog charged the huge assembly of geese sending them all flying, mostly to the
west. We perused two golf courses covered with geese, but it was not until 1:15
the we were successful.

At the golf course on the north side of 29th street west of Taft, we set to
examining the geese with bins and scope. Finally Lynne found it about 150 yards
out on the course (a decent 5 or 6 iron shot). We had time to watch it as much
as we wanted. Great spot, Lynne!!

Our quest for a Pine Warbler continues, however. I guess it just isn't meant to
be.

Good birding, everyone!
